Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all the team at Precision Porsche.

We would like to thank all our customers, old and new, for your support in 2017; it has been a great year.  We met fantastic people, worked on great projects and truly stunning Porsches.  We all have our favourite ones, from the 924 to the mighty impressive 991 GT3 RS.

We have been extremely busy this year. The business is growing, so it is my pleasure to announce new members to the team.  Helping in the service department is Andy, our new Service Adviser, a qualified technician with over 30 years in the motor industry and he is already a great asset to the company.  We have been interviewing for an apprenticeship position over the summer and are very pleased to introduce Patrick, our new Apprentice Technician.  He has a great attitude and passion for sports cars and Porsche, and I am sure he will have a great future with Precision.  Finally, I would like to introduce Dan, our new detailer.  He has been valeting cars for over 20 years and loves nothing more than to bring your car's paintwork back to life. He just cannot wait to jump on to the next car.

Whilst the company is expanding, we will never lose sight of our attention to detail and the utmost respect for our customers and their wonderful cars. It is our privilege to work on such prestige vehicles. We strive hard to provide a personal and professional service and are always looking for ways that we can improve.  We welcome your feedback, good or bad.

2018 will be an even busier year with many new customers venturing into Porsche ownership and we look forward to welcoming them to Precision.  There will be our popular 'Cars 'n Coffee' meet in the spring,  which will include free Porsche health-checks and a chance to meet the Precision team, so watch out for that. We also attend our local Porsche club 'meets' once a month, so, if you are able to attend, it's always nice to catch-up. Dates to be announced on our website and Facebook pages soon.

In the meantime, we wish you all a very Happy Christmas and New Year.  Stay safe on the roads and  we look forward to seeing you in 2018.

From all the team at Precision Porsche

Get a grip. It's only a bit of snow.

Many of your cars will be nestling under blankets in nice warm garages this Winter, but for those who use them throughout the year, don't forget your Winter tyres if the weather gets dodgy. Wide Summer tyres and temperatures below 7 degrees don't mix. It doesn't have to be snowy or icy, just cold. Summer tyres stiffen up when the temperature drops whereas Winters stay flexible and give you better braking and handling.

Talk to us at Precision about a set of Winter tyres for your Porsche and we'll be happy to supply and fit for you. Until then, onwards and sideways...

Electric Porsche on wintery mission.

New spy shots have revealed Porsche has started cold weather testing its all-electric Mission E that will enter production in 2019. It will offer a range of up to 310 miles and debut new rapid charging technology. Porsche’s first all-electric saloon will spawn various models, with different power outputs and over-the-air updates. These latest images don't show any drastic changes to the Mission E prototype; a new set of wheels likely to be wrapped in winter tyres are the only difference. A pair of five-spoke wheels are seen at the front while the rear wheels are fitted with a 15-spoke design.

Porsche is aiming to sell up to 20,000 Mission Es a year and is looking at supplementing the range with a high-performance GT-E variant, as well as other versions with varying power outputs. If you buy one, you can trust us at Precision Porsche to look after it for you.

Singer Williams Porsche 964 911 Lightweight - now with 500 bhp

Porsche restoration/modification/reimagination specialist Singer officially dropped details on its most drool-worthy 911 project to date: a lightweight 964-era 911 with a 500-horsepower 4.0-liter flat-6 engine. The formula is simple: subtract weight and add power; the results are incredible. We like it, and they've almost managed to finish it in our company colours of Acid Green. The engine retains many original qualities despite the power increase to 500 hp. It's a classic Porsche four-valve-per-cylinder head design, it's naturally aspirated, and, yes, it's air-cooled. It will also scream to redline over 9,000 rpm redline.

Singer will build 75 examples of this car, though Williams will handle production at its Oxfordshire, England, campus. Price? The company doesn't mention, but it's worth putting on the Christmas List. If you're lucky, bring it to Precision Porsche for the best in Fixed Price Servicing on all Porsche models.

Next 718 Boxster will pack a punch

The next Boxster Spyder will use a 4.0-litre engine in place of the current hottest 718’s turbocharged 2.5-litre flat four. Output for the 4.0-litre unit is rated at 493bhp at 8250rpm in the 911 GT3, but the Boxster Spyder’s power may be slightly down on this in order to leave breathing space for its more expensive sibling.

To signify its driver focus, the car will be offered with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, but those after maximum on track performance will be able to select the option of a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission.

We say bring it on, and then bring it down to Precision Porsche for the best deals in Fixed Price Servicing.

2018 GT2 RS too fast for Nurburgring?

Has Walter Rohrl gone soft? He reckons modern cars are now too fast for Nurburgring laps. He says" The speeds modern sports cars and supercars achieve at the track are dangerous, and even with improved downforce and aerodynamics, they can't match purpose-built race cars. You have no room for mistakes, that’s the bad thing,”

Walter did'nt join Porsche when the brand set its record 6:47.3 lap time with the new 911 GT2 RS earlier this year, though he lapped the previous-generation 911 GT2. In his older age (he's 70), he joked that he's less willing to take risks, but humorously, said the main reason is it takes too long for him to drive to the 'Ring.

Still, Porsche will forge ahead and plans to continue to work at the Nürburgring. The head of Porsche’s motorsport and GT road cars, Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, said the track remains an important facet in road car development. He challenged the industry as a whole to keep going faster.

New Porsche Turbo Macan gets 436 bhp. We like that.

We love the current Macan and look after many for our customers. But Porsche has launched the Macan Turbo Exclusive Performance Edition, replacing the Turbo as the new range-topping Macan SUV, with extra horsepower and £23,000 added to the price.

The Exclusive Performance Edition uses the Turbo’s 3.6-litre twin-turbo V6 engine but output is increased to 436bhp, 36bhp extra than the standard Turbo, as well as 600Nm of torque through its permanent four-wheel-drive system. The 0-62mph sprint takes 4.4 seconds, four tenths quicker than the Turbo, and top speed is 169mph. We say get one bought and when you do, bring it Precision Porsche for all its servicing.

Screen Shot 2017-10-30 at 11.17.33.jpg

The Award Winning Teddy Bear Run is now in it's 5th year having raised over £38,000 for Children's Charities. Started in 2012 by two friends John and Westley the event has grown considerably over the years and gained recognition for it's charitable contrabutions. During 2017 the aim is to crack the £50,000 barrier and the guys are motoring towards their goal. We are back at Goodwood again this year as our start venue. We started here last year and it was a great success. It is a relatively short run to Arundel so that we can visit the Chestnut Tree House Children's Hospice where we will have a raffle, much needed tea and coffee and also cake !

Always a good amount of Porsche Cars and a great cause. Please click this link for more details:

Have Porsche gone soft with the 911 GT3 Touring?

Porsche has revealed the GT3 Touring at the Frankfurt Motor Show that it's touting as 'the purist's 911' (whatever that means). It sits alongside the regular GT3 and GT2 RS at the track-focused brow of the hill of the 911 range However, the GT3 Touring is a toned down, more basic version of the latest 991.2-generation 911 GT3.

Under that more subtle engine cover (the rear wing has gone) is the same 493bhp 4.0-litre flat-six as the regular GT3. But like the 911R, the Touring will only be available with a six-speed manual gearbox, with no dual-clutch automatic PDK option.  0-62 in 3.9 seconds, if you can shift quick enough, which we know you can, Top speed of 196mph.

We'd be delighted to look after your new car for you so be sure to check out our Precision Porsche Fixed Price Servicing menu. We offer main dealer servicing on all Porsche models at more favourable rates than a main dealer.

Porsche GT2 RS sets new record at the 'ring

Porsche has set a new Nurburgring lap record for a ‘road-approved sports car’ in a 911 GT2 RS, setting a time of 6:47.3, almost a five full seconds faster than the 6:52 set by the Lamborghini Huracan earlier in 2017.

Wacking out 690 horses from a six-cylinder biturbo engine, the GT2 RS was already known to be the most powerful 911 ever built, however, this result confirms that it is also the fastest 911 ever.

At Precision Porsche we look after many Porsche GT cars so please check out our Fixed Price Servicing Menu and we look forward to seeing you soon, here in East Sussex.

Ahoy! Push the boat out with a new $16m Porsche Superyacht.

Porsche’s performance cars rule the streets, and now the brand is taking over the high seas.

Porsche is best known for its high-performance road cars, but it's more well-rounded than you may think. Studio F.A. Porsche (formerly known as Porsche Design Studio), crafts everything from business suits, to laptops, and even kitchen knives, but Studio F.A. Porsche has just debuted what may be its flagship — a big boat. Buyers can choose from a variety of color combinations to customize the interior look. The result is something Porsche’s designers call a “Grand Tourismo for the seas,”  The GTT 115 Superyacht will be displayed at the Monaco Boat Show next week. For all your Porsche Servicing - (excluding the GT 115) visit our Fixed Price Servicing Menu  and we hope to see you cruising down soon to Precision.

Neglected Martini-liveried Porsche Cayman gets a facelift

_1010473.jpg

Our new Detailer Daniel had his work cut out for him today when one of our customers bought in his badly neglected Porsche Cayman. Tch-tch.

However, there’s nothing Dan likes better than a challenge (especially on a Friday) and with a bit of elbow grease and 20 years detailing experience the Cayman was soon returned to its former Guards Red glory and returned to its owner who has promised to look after it a bit more carefully in the future.

new Porsche Track App

The new Porsche Track app takes on the role of driving instructor on the track. Three functions are especially fascinating. Precision as a learning objective: it can now be achieved with a smartphone thanks to the advance of digitization. It features a Lap Timer function, GPA Track function and Ghost car function. The Porsche Track Precision app is available for all new 718 Boxster, 718 Cayman, and 911 models, as well as all GT types- no affiliation to the name but we do offer fixed price servicing for all those models, see our Service Menu here. Prerequisites: Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system version 4.0 or higher and the two equipment options Connect Plus and Sport Chrono package.

Steve McQueen Le Mans Porsche 917 sells for $14 million

The film Le Mans remains one of the greatest pieces of motorsport cinema and the star of that film for many of us is the Porsche 917K that takes home the checkered flag, rather than super cool Steve McQueen. As is the case with most films featuring cars, many identical ones were used to capture the footage and one of those cars used in the film just crossed the auction block at Monterey Car Week, USA for a cool $14 million.

The Le mans production crew was tasked with rounding up a fleet of vehicles to use for filming. Chassis 917-024 (above) was part of this group and it still sports its iconic Gulf livery. It was then sold off to a collector in France in 1978 and didn't resurface until 2001. Found in a warehouse, it made headlines in the car collector world and was snatched up by a buyer in Switzerland. The car was then duly restored. It would be great to see this beast out on a race track where it was designed to run. Perhaps the new owner will be back in Monterey soon, and this car will be rolling off a trailer to be topped up with racing fuel.

At Precision Porsche we look after all Porsche models from the classic 356 and 917, to the Boxster, Cayman and Cayenne through to the latest 991 and offer full Main Dealer Services at more competitive rates.

Porsche 911 GT3 sets super quick 'Ring lap

The new Porsche 911 GT3 in standard trim has set one of the quickest Nurburgring laps in production car history by knocking a massive 12 seconds off the benchmark lap time set by its predecessor, clocking 7 minutes and 12.7 seconds. The new 493bhp 4.0-litre engine, ranks alongside the likes of the Mercedes AMG GT R and the Nissan GT-R Nismo as one of the top ten fastest production cars to have set a time at the ‘Green Hell’. At Precision Porsche we look after all Porsche models from the Porsche 356 up to the Porsche 911 GT3 and only use genuine Porsche parts, ensuring your warranty remains intact. Please see our Service Menu for Fixed Price Porsche Servicing and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Porsche Classics at the Castle - Sunday 3rd September

Screen Shot 2017-08-21 at 10.07.49.jpg

Classics at the Castle will take place on Sunday, 3rd September at Hedingham Castle. This year will again see the presentation of an appreciation of all the classic ‘KG’ Porsches that has been at the heart of the event over the last 10 years, but with a move away from the undeniably spectacular but ultimately more ‘corporate’ feel of recent years.

The 2017 edition will be aiming for a return to the ‘meeting of friends with a passion for Porsche’ scenario of the early iterations. Consequently for 2017 the moving parades will be replaced with a static chronological presentation on the long driveway to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the advent of the 911S in 1967. This will be one of the most complete line-ups of the 911S in this anniversary year, and will give visitors the opportunity to get close to the cars and their owners.

It will include all the models in the ‘S’ production spectrum, including those built in the Porsche AG period until the ‘S’ designation was deleted. There are some really special cars pencilled in, including two rare right-hand-drive S models from 1967– 2.2-litre ‘S’ and ‘S’ Sport and the ex Vic Elford 2.4-litre car.

Contact can be made with Fred Hampton by emailing 356@porscheclubgb.com and for all your Porsche servicing from classics to the latest models visit our Fixed Price Service Menu  on the Precision Porsche website.

79 year-old woman caught doing 147 mph in Porsche Boxster GTS

A 79 year-old lady was caught doing 147 mph in her Porsche Boxster GTS recently, when she went for a midnight drive when she couldn't sleep. Wanting to doze off and not being unable to sleep can drive you mad. In the case of one 79-year-old woman in Namur, Belgium, it drove her to go 147 mph in her Porsche Boxster GTS and get nicked in a speed trap. When she appeared in court this month her reasoning for going so fast was "I couldn't sleep."
The lady was forced to pay a 4,000 euro fine and now faces a three-month driving ban. Bad luck, good choice of car. Talk to us about servicing and looking after your Porsche Boxster GTS.

Spotted - Facelifted Porsche Macan due out next year

Porsche is gearing up for an SUV product offensive with an all-new Cayenne due by the end of the year, while spy shots also reveal that a coupe-styled Cayenne is currently under consideration. These brand new spy shots reveal that Porsche’s smaller offering – the Macan – won’t be left out. It’s three years old, and is due a facelift.

The Macan has become a core part of Porsche’s line-up since launching in 2014, rapidly rising to become the brand’s bestseller. In 2016 Porsche delivered 237,778 cars globally - 95,642 of that figure accounted for by the Macan.

At Precision Porsche we look after a number of these great cars so please contact us for all your servicing and maintenance requirements and check out our Fixed Price Servicing page for the Porsche Macan.
